Holding Space for Every Guest
At The Dreaming, we are committed to making our retreat as inclusive and welcoming as possible. We have hosted guests using mobility scooters, wheelchairs, and rollators, and we continue to work on improving our facilities to better meet diverse needs.
Accessible Accommodation
All of our guest bedrooms are located upstairs (on the first or second floor). However, we do have one accessible room on the ground floor, which includes:
Two double beds placed close together.
A designated accessible bathroom located right next to the room.
Important Notes About the Accessible Room
This room is not listed on our website and must be requested directly by email. It is not available for online booking.
Due to its location next to our commercial kitchen, guests may experience some sound and vibrations between 6.30am and 10.00pm. We are transparent about this because, while the room is a lovely space, we are still working on improving its soundproofing.
The room is priced lower than our standard rooms, and we offer a 50% discount for a Personal Care Assistant (PCA) staying with a guest.
To request this room, please email us with your dates and requirements.
Navigating Our Spaces
Indoors
The ground floor interior of the house is walking-aid friendly, providing full access to all indoor spaces, including dining and communal areas.
We are happy to make reasonable adjustments, such as repositioning furniture (e.g., dining tables) to create more space for mobility aids.
Please note that some indoor areas are compact, which may make navigation challenging for larger mobility aids.
Outdoors
Approximately many of our Offerings (activities/workshops) take place outdoors.
Our grounds feature uneven terrain, gravel paths, and some steep or slippery areas due to the natural landscape. Accessibility outdoors may vary depending on individual mobility needs.
Support and Limitations
Our staff are not trained to assist with physically moving or lifting individuals, for both safeguarding and health and safety reasons. Guests requiring physical assistance should be accompanied by a Personal Care Assistant (PCA) or support worker.
We encourage you to contact us in advance to discuss your specific needs, so we can do our best to accommodate you and ensure a comfortable stay.
