Our serene wellbeing retreat, nestled amidst nature's embrace, seeks a passionate Master Horticulturist and Food Cultivator to oversee the cultivation of lush landscapes, vibrant flora, and nourishing food. Responsibilities
Holistic Landscape Design and Management
Design and maintain holistic landscape plans that integrate permaculture gardens, edible landscapes, and sustainable food production systems, reflecting our commitment to wellness and sustainability.
Manage and maintain all garden spaces, ensuring they serve as both aesthetically pleasing environments and productive food-growing areas.
Implement regenerative gardening practices, composting initiatives, and permaculture principles to enrich soil health, enhance biodiversity, and conserve resources.
Food Cultivation and Harvesting
Coordinate the cultivation, harvesting, and processing of organic fruits, vegetables, herbs, and edible flowers for use in our culinary offerings and wellness programs.
Champion a seed-to-plate philosophy, emphasising the importance of growing and consuming fresh, locally sourced foods that nourish the body, mind, and spirit.
Collaborate with our culinary team to showcase seasonal ingredients, create farm- to-table dining experiences, and promote conscious eating habits among guests and community members.
Community Engagement and Collaboration
Create a sense of belonging and connection within our diverse community of practitioners, work exchange crew, colleagues, and guests through shared experiences in the garden and kitchen.
Build and maintain meaningful partnerships with local farmers, seed producers, and community organisations to support food sovereignty initiatives, promote food justice, and strengthen community resilience.
Empower our community to actively participate in the stewardship of our gardens, embedding a culture of reciprocity, shared learning, and mutual support.
Offerings
Develop and deliver experiential workshops, ceremonies, and wellness offerings that celebrate the interconnection between nature, plants, food, and holistic wellness.
Lead walks around the grounds, gardening demonstrations, and hands-on offerings, inviting guests to explore the garden-to-table journey and deepen their connection to the earth.
Create sacred spaces for reflection, ceremony, and healing within the natural environment, honouring the wisdom of the land and indigenous traditions.
Join us in sowing seeds of wellness, cultivating abundance, and nourishing community connections at our world class retreat. As a Master Horticulturist and Food Cultivator, you will play a vital role in community, resilience, sustainability, and wellbeing in harmony with nature's rhythms.
At least three years experience in Horticulture, Botany, Permaculture, Sustainable Agriculture, or related field.
Demonstrated experience in landscape design, food cultivation, and sustainable gardening practices, preferably in a community-oriented setting.
Proficiency in organic gardening techniques, soil biology, crop rotation, and integrated pest management.
Strong communication, facilitation, and leadership skills, with a passion for building inclusive and collaborative communities.
Commitment to social and environmental justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion principles.
Ability to design and deliver engaging educational programs, ceremonies, and wellness offerings that inspire personal transformation and collective healing.
Capacity to work autonomously and collaboratively within a dynamic, team-based environment.
Ability to manage own budget
